The Paris Aligned Asset Owners initiative (PAAO), an international group of asset owners committed to supporting the goal of net zero greenhouse gas emission by 2050 or sooner, has published its first Progress Report showcasing the steps asset owners are taking to reach their net zero goals.

  • The 2022 Global Investor Statement to Governments on the Climate Crisis launches today with 533 investor signatories representing US $39 trillion in assets. The statement is open for investors to join the unified call for government action until COP27.
  • The statement urges governments to implement policies consistent with a just transition limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C via policies such as: medium and long-term climate strategies, transitioning energy away from fossil fuels, ending deforestation, bolstering climate finance, and strengthening disclosures.

The Investor Agenda releases new guidance for investors to develop and publish ambitious Investor Climate Action Plans

  • The seven Founding Partners of the Investor Agenda have released updated ICAPs Guidance to help investors reach a net zero emissions economy by 2050 or sooner.
  • The ICAPs Guidance is designed to accompany the ICAPs Expectations Ladder to raise investor ambition on the climate crisis.
  • The updated Guidance document adds further information on the ICAPs Expectations Ladder’s tiers, asset classes, tools and methodologies, sector levels, as well as where to find new resources on topics of increasing importance such as nature, biodiversity, adaptation and resilience.
