The 2024 Global Investor Statement to Governments on the Climate Crisis, publicly launched today, comes one week ahead of Climate Week NYC where investors will encourage their peers worldwide to support the global call for government action. It has already been signed by 534 financial institutions and their representatives, with more than USD$29 trillion in assets under management. The statement will remain open until 1st November, ahead of the UN Climate Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan, where it will be presented to governments with the final list of signatures.

Submission to Hong Kong SAR 2024 Policy Address Public Consultation

AIGCC welcomes the Chief Executive’s focus on scaling up Hong Kong SAR’s capability in coping with extreme weather events that are intensifying due to climate change in the 2023 Policy Address. Building on some of the recommendations made in this regard, we propose that this year’s Policy Address emphasise on the need for a systemic response that enables more coordination and collaboration among the different stakeholders (communities, businesses and financial institutions) and government on understanding and responding to risks and building resilience.

AIGCC is pleased to join the Joint Sustainable Finance Working Group as an Industry Advisory Panel member. The Working Group is jointly established by The ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) and the ASEAN Working Committee on Capital Market Development (WC-CMD). AIGCC will contribute to the working group on implementation of disclosure standards.
