AIGCC Flagship Investor Climate Transition In Asia Report – What Has Changed And What Hasn’t Change In An Uncertain World
The objective of this session is to translate data into action; equipping investors and policymakers with insights to accelerate transition finance and decarbonisation in Asia. By bringing the report’s findings to the summit, the session aims to catalyse stronger cross-market collaboration, inform policy deliberations and inspire greater ambition in financing net zero transitions that are equitable, resilient and investible.
The session will showcase an investor framework that connects transition metrics to financial outcomes, investment decision-making, and stewardship using data.
AIGCC’s Climate Transition in Asia report is the most comprehensive regional analysis of how institutional capital markets are integrating climate into investment decision-making. Drawing on data from 240 of the largest investors across Asia, including 202 headquartered in the region and collectively managing more than US$100 trillion, the report highlights both progress and gaps in investor climate action, covering 28 climate-related metrics.

Optimising the Energy Transition Roadmap in Asia: Balancing Immediate Climate Actions with Long-Term Economic Resilience
Asian markets are pivotal as global manufacturing hubs, where rapid economic growth will significantly escalate energy demand in the coming decades. While the current energy mix remains heavily dependent on fossil fuels, the dual imperatives of energy security and climate urgency require a sophisticated balancing act to ensure long-term economic resilience.
The session explores how Asian markets can manage exposure to imported energy, while pursuing near-term climate action – particularly the proactive management of methane. The discussion begins with high-impact levers such as methane abatement. By examining investors’ view on tangible costs, savings and strategic benefits of these actions, it highlights how the energy industry can deliver real-world GHG mitigation outcomes today with strong alignment across investments, corporate strategies, and policies.

Fostering Systemic Climate Resilience Through Partnerships
Intensifying climate hazards and supply chain disruptions are exposing widening adaptation and insurance protection gaps for communities and firms across Asia. Global adaptation finance needs are estimated at around USD 310 to 365 billion annually by 2035, yet private finance provides less than 5% of this. At the same time, policy, corporate risk management, and capital allocation practices have not integrated resilience considerations at the speed or scale required: many companies still lack comprehensive resilience plans, and actions that exist are often fragmented, short-term, and disconnected from national and local adaptation priorities which present barriers to addressing risks systemically.
This panel discussion at the AIGCC Summit will explore how multi-stakeholder partnerships — integrating investor stewardship, insurance innovation, and policymaking — can scale systemic resilience planning alongside transition planning. The panel will examine how resilience investments can unlock better insurance terms and lower the cost of capital, how asset owners and managers can embed climate resilience governance into operations and supply chains in ways that create financial value, and how policy enablers can scale resilience efforts in Asia.

C-level Asset Owners Panel –
Asset owners act as essential enablers of capital mobilisation, helping to address Asia’s trillion dollar climate funding gap by shaping how climate risks and opportunities are assessed and embedded into their investments. Having already begun integrating climate considerations into their portfolios, asset owners are refining investment approaches that balance climate-related risks, emerging opportunity sets, and long-term value creation. This session will bring C-suite asset owners together for a high-impact discussion on what has worked, what has not, and what is needed to accelerate climate-aligned investment across the region. The dialogue will draw on lessons from recent years of implementation and highlight practical insights to advance climate investment strategies across Asia.
Attendees are expected to gain clearer insights to the evolving thinking of asset owners relating to climate investment strategies, including how asset owners are thinking about financial returns alongside climate impact assessments, real-economy decarbonisation and other factors including dynamics shaped by geopolitical factors, regulation, evolving data tools, scientific insights, and Asia-specific trends including emerging markets. Based on these considerations, the panellists will also highlight their most urgent priorities for the upcoming years ahead. Attendees will also be able to identify and build on these insights on future collaboration opportunities and products by understanding the trajectory of the evolving perspectives.
