Wataru Kawasaki

Joined Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation as Senior Manager in 2022. A former international civil servant who has nearly 20 years of leading global urban fora, and serving in post-conflict and disaster development areas at global, regional and country levels with the United Nations. Wataru Kawasaki has brought much value to sustainable investing at MUFG Trust Bank through his knowledge and expertise in international development, particularly on sustainability issues and global trends, policies and agendas. Wataru started his career in Asia-Pacific regional development operations in the UN system in 2004, followed by coordination role in the UN country office in Afghanistan, and then as a key officer coordinating the UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development in 2016, as well as World Urban Forums.

Wataru has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from University of Minnesota, USA, and Master of Science in Development Studies from London School of Economics and Political Science, UK.
