The Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) jointly invite you to an event exploring how asset owners and asset managers are integrating nature into their investment approaches,
AIGCC’s analysis indicates that around 53% of the Asia-Pacific economy is moderately or highly dependent on nature, highlighting the potential economic implications of continued ecosystem degradation. For investors, these dynamics may translate into financial risks, including eroding asset value, increased volatility, and weaker long-term returns.
Global initiatives such as the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) have raised expectations for companies and financial institutions to assess and disclose nature-related dependencies, impacts, and risks. As a result, a growing number of asset owners and asset managers have started to integrate nature considerations into their investment policies, strategies, and stewardship practices.
Despite this momentum, progress across regions remains uneven. Much of the existing guidance, datasets, and analytical tools have been developed at the global level or in other markets, leaving investors in Asia—particularly Southeast Asia—facing challenges in identifying practical approaches and regionally relevant data.
This highlights the need to translate global frameworks into approaches that are practical within regional investment contexts. In this context, asset owners play a key role in shaping how asset managers and portfolio companies respond to nature-related risks and opportunities.
In this in-person session, AIGCC and TNFD will explore how asset owners and asset managers are integrating nature into their investment approaches, and highlight practical tools and guidance to help investors assess nature-related risks in the region and integrate nature into investment decision-making
