As Asia’s climate investment landscape continues to evolve, 2024 marked another year of significant progress with our members and partners in mitigating climate risk and capitalising on transition opportunities.
The Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) has published its 2024 Year in Review, highlighting key outcomes from the year in a series of case studies across our work.
Over the past 12 months, AIGCC has continued to support institutional investors across Asia as they navigate evolving climate policies, deepen engagement with decision-makers key markets, and advance the region’s climate transition.
For example:
- Investor influence on climate policy development grew significantly, helping to create an enabling environment for capital allocation toward climate solutions.
- AIGCC helped investors integrate nature, biodiversity, and climate resilience into investment strategies, reflecting a more holistic approach to climate action.
- Investor stewardship and engagement have driven more ambitious and transparent climate commitments from companies in heavy-emitting sectors.
- In 2024, AIGCC launched a new program focusing on just transition for Asia’s emerging markets, helping to ensure that economic shifts towards low-carbon development are inclusive and equitable.
